Johnson Controls – Hitachi Selects Anaqua to Manage Global IP

Air conditioning joint venture chooses IP system that meets its worldwide needs

Boston, October 11, 2017

Anaqua, Inc., a leading provider of Intellectual Property (IP) management and analytics software and services, today announced Johnson Controls–Hitachi Air Conditioning has selected the ANAQUA unified IP platform in order to globalize the joint venture’s IP management systems.

Johnson Controls–Hitachi, which has approximately 15,000 employees in over 20 locations across four continents, was established as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. and Johnson Controls, Inc. in 2015. As the worldwide joint-company took shape, the company became concerned about global operating efficiency and security implications and decided to move all their IP management matters to Anaqua.

“With a global IP portfolio that expands throughout Asia, Europe and America, Johnson Controls–Hitachi needed a single, global multi-lingual IP management system,” said Karen Taylor, General Manager of Asia Pacific at Anaqua. “Our solution will provide them with the increased efficiency and data access and control they have been looking for.”

Johnson Controls–Hitachi will use the ANAQUA platform to manage patents and trademarks and their ongoing stream of new inventions. They will also utilize Anaqua’s system for invoicing, cost-tracking and ‘WorkSpaces’, which combine analytics, content, tools and tasks in one ‘WorkSpace’ providing at-a-glance strategic insights for informed portfolio decision-making.

“We are very pleased to help Johnson Controls–Hitachi manage their global IP capabilities,” said Bob Romeo, CEO of Anaqua. “To be selected by another world leader in their product and technology space is a source of great pride for Anaqua, and demonstrates again that our software and services are the best solution globally for IP management.”
